vim - `set autoindent` .vimrc not recognised in iOS with iVim

Question

I followed this video and created a .vimrc file on my iOS for iVim, which looks like this:

set autoindent
set nu

While set nu is recognised by iVim (and therefore the line enumeration is displayed), set autoindent doesn't work. If I instead execute it explicitly in the file, then it works.
