We use Visual Studio 2015 to build a library at our work, and we want to automate the process. This involves building a docker container for Windows and installing Visual Studio 2015 on it during the container build process. However, when I run the dockerfile, the build hangs during the step where we run the Visual Studio 2015 installer. This is what I have at that step:
RUN "C:TEMPen_visual_studio_professional_2015_with_update_3_x86_x64_web_installer_8922978.exe" --full --quiet --norestart `
--installPath C:BuildTools
Since it's hanging at that step, with no console output, I have no way of knowing why it's hanging. I believe the flags I've selected make it so that I don't need a GUI to install the 2015 build tools, but the fact that it's still hung after 5 hours means it's probably not doing anything. How can I debug this, and is there a better way to install Visual Studio in a Docker container?
