Share URL with image on twitter and mewe

Question

On facebook I use sharer.php?u=url and facebook automatically reads the image using the og:image meta tag. How do I do the same thing on twitter and mewe.com? I have twitter:image tag but it does not seem to help. on MeWe it only reads the og:description and not the og:image.
