i'm designing a database where i have an entity Document
. I also want to save different versions of that Document
. For that i use a classic versioning approach: for every new version of an Document
i add a new row in Document
and self reference to the original Document
. The original Document
has a reference null
The tricky part with my requirements is now that if the original Document
gets changed these changes should be propagated to every newer version if that particular column was not changed in the new version.
A naive solution would be to just iterate over every new version and check if the column is equal to the original one and update it with the changes to the original Document
. Any other solutions?
Thanks
