WordPress hosted as a subfolder in Azure. Issue with slots

Question

Is there any way to host WP blog as a subfolder in a .net core app? The problem is that if you have deployment slots, you need to maintain your WP files on each slot. So any update to the WP blog would have to be performed for each of the slots. Not to mention any media, e.g. how do you migrate images from one slot to the other.

At the moment we have the blog hosted as a separate web app in Azure through a reverse proxy, but this creates tons of issues.
