java - Can we configure Maven to use different JDK versions for different modules?

Question

I have a requirement where I need few modules to be built on JDK 1.6 and others on JDK 1.7. WHat I have done is using compiler plugin in specific module to provide the source and target version like below. But I am wondering if there is a better solution for this.

        <plugin>
            <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
            <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId>
            <version>2.0.2</version>
            <configuration>
                <source>1.6</source>
                <target>1.6</target>
            </configuration>
        </plugin>
