c# - How to create program that interacts with existing program

Question

I want to make a Windows application that interacts with and already existing application, that is not mine. In the already existing app, new windows is frequently opened, and i want my application to auto tile some of these windows, so they fill out as much of my screen as possible without overlapping. Also I want my application to be able to do this om multiple other applications at once. I have only coded for couple of months using C#, so this might be too big of a project right now, but I just want some knowledge of how to get there.
