Appending a remote file in python

I have several Raspberry Pi's deployed to remote locations with temperature sensors. What I would like to do is have each Pi write data to a central location at an interval so I can display the data on a web page later. Each Pi will write to its own remote file at the central location. Search results say paramiko can write remotely but the examples were copying files instead of appending data in a variable to a remote file. Other said pysftp, Fabric, subprocess. So far I couldn't get any examples to work from one pi to another sitting next to it. Eventually I want to schedule a cron job to send data at regular intervals. Any idea of the simplest way forward or links to snippets? The central location can be another pi with apache or a hosted web site. I can go with whats easiest.
