orm - API Platform persisting in database and sending to message bus

Question

I'm trying to make an Entity that will send a message to the bus, but also persist data in the database, for some reason I can't get it done with the messenger=persist attribute, while the documentation says it should work like that. Anyone have experience with the messenger=persist functionality?
