machine learning - What are the 'audit review and control efforts' of a software industry (SQA)?

Question

I have built several machine learning models to predict the total efforts required to build a software system E.g. person-months). Now I have been asked to consider my results with the industry's audit review and control efforts.

My question is how can I do that? I mean what are some of the benchmarks against which I can evaluate my results? I am in university and have no knowledge about how industries follow these steps.
